About Me

.

Hi there, I’m Z - a creative strategist, storyteller, and UX designer with an avid love of cheese.

Design and user experience are my playground. My magic lies in blending creativity with strategy, helping brands and users connect in ways that matter. My journey—from managing businesses to writing and designing for them—has honed my ability to meet both user and business needs.

As a first-generation immigrant, I inherited an incredible work ethic, empathy, and perspective. Growing up surrounded by creatives, I naturally danced between language and design. This interplay of creativity and practicality led me to study Cognitive Behavioral Psychology and English, and for a decade, I balanced roles in writing and counseling. For 10+ years, I had a front-row seat to the human experience and empathetic problem-solving. What I discovered was the incredible, lasting impact that experience design can have on people’s lives.

Inspired by this, I sought to amplify my role as a force for positive change. So I pivoted to UX research and UX design.

Today, I fuse research, strategy, and creativity to craft designs that don't just look good—they make a difference.

When I’m not obsessing over design ideas or tinkering away in Figma, you’ll find me moonwalking through plant shops (not literally, but it sure feels like I am because I'm nothing if not a millenial "plant mom"). As a neurodivergent person, my hyper focus is a superpower, but after hours on my laptop, tending to my garden is how I unwind. I also love scouring Austin for new coffee spots to work from and avoid eye contact at, or hiking and (consistently) stopping to smell the flowers.

When I’m not obsessing over design ideas or tinkering away in Figma, you’ll find me moonwalking through plant shops (not literally, but it sure feels that way—I’m a millennial "plant mom" through and through). As a neurodivergent person, my hyper focus is a superpower, but after hours on my laptop, tending to my garden is how I unwind. Slowing down to care for my plants helps me shift out of my head and reconnect with my body.

I love scouring Austin for new coffee spots to work from and (awkwardly) avoid eye contact at. Finding beautiful spaces around the city makes me feel like a traveler in my own hometown, and the novelty of new environments always sparks inspiration—especially when they're gorgeously designed. Give me dim lighting and bold wallpaper any day.

I have a deep love for hiking and (consistently) stopping to smell the flowers. When fall and spring roll around, you can catch me on the trails at least three days a week, soaking in nature’s beauty and clearing my head.
